CCC Mayor vows to keep affordable situation of waterlogging

Newly- elected city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin pledged his commitment to work with cent percent transparency and accountability to keep the waterlogging situation in the coming season with affordable condition.
He said within the shortest possible time, it is quite impossible to solve waterlogging problem totally but I will try to survive the affordable situation this season.
He disclosed it while addressing the reception function as arranged by the Dewanjee pukurpar samity in city with Advocate Rana das gupta in the chair.
Pro-VC of the Chittagong University Dr. Iftikhar Uddin Chowdhury graced the reception function as chief guests while the former councilor Golam Mostafa was the special guest in it.
Among others, newly elected councilor Saibal das, Dr. Arup Dutta, Eng. Parimol Chowdury, Swapan Chowdhury, saiful Islam spoke on the occasion.
City mayor in his brief deliverations emphasized the need for conservancy programs of the city and reexcavation of the canals, drains within the city areas for easy flowing of water during rainy season so as the city dwellers will be freed from waterlogging severely. He also sought cooperation of the city dwellers for creating awareness among them regarding waterlogging.
On behalf of the residents of the Dewan Bazar area, crests were given to Mayor Nasiruddin, councilor Saibal Das summon and councilor Anjuman Ara , sources said.
