NCL 4-day tournament to begin today

The National Cricket League (NCL) T20 finished recently. Rangpur Division became champions in the NCL T20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The longer version NCL will start today. The longer version NCL is a four-day format and also a red-ball tournament. A total of eight divisions will take part in the NCL. They are: Dhaka Division, Barishal Division, Sylhet Division, Chattogram Division, Rangpur Division, Khulna Division, Rajshahi Division and Mymensingh Division.

The NCL longer version tournament is a List-A cricket competition of the country.

A good number of cricketers come to the Bangladesh National Cricket team, Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team. Besides, some cricketers used to get chance in the Bangladesh Test squad.

Today Sylhet Division will take on Mymensingh Division at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Dhaka Division will face off Rangpur Division at the Sylhet Academy Ground, Khulna Division will play against Barishal Division at the Khulna Divisional Stadium, Rajshahi Division will meet Chattogram Division at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium. All the matches will start at 9:30am.

The NCL matches will also held at two venues of Cox’s Bazar, Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) Ground in Savar.

Dhaka Metro will not take part in this year’s NCL longer version competition. Mymensingh Division will compete instead of Dhaka Metro. Nazmul Hossain is the Head Coach of Mymensingh Division and Abdul Majid is the Captain of Mymensingh Division.

Ace and experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim will play for Sylhet Division to prepare himself for the Bangladesh National Cricket team to play Test matches. Besides, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain will play in NCL. Soumya Sarkar will also take part in the NCL.
