Asian Senior Men’s Central Zone Volleyball begins today

The Asian Senior Men’s Central Zone Volleyball Championship begins today at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
Minister for Commerce Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the meet at 3.00 pm as the chief guest while State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel will be with him as special guests.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the gala extravaganza. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan will participate in the volleyball meet.
Top two teams from each group will get tickets of the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final.
Marking the ensuing volleyball competition, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Friday. President of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) Md Atiqul Islam, Managing Director of Dutch-Bangla Bank KS Tabrej, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee Atiqul Karim Khan (Lipu), Senior Vice-President of BVF AH Aslam Sunny, General Secretary of the Federation Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Assistant-Organising Secretary of the Tournament Committee Advocate Fazle Rabbi Babul were present at the conference.
