Colleagues fondly recall Alamgir Mohiuddin

A memorial and prayer ceremony was held in remembrance of Alamgir Mohiuddin, the founding editor of Dainik Naya Diganta.

The event took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Naya Diganta office and was organized by the Naya Diganta family.

On the occasion, memories of his long professional and personal life were shared by Naya Diganta Publisher Shamsul Huda FCA, Editor Salahuddin Muhammad Babar, Executive Editor Masumur Rahman Khalili, City Editor Ashraful Islam, and Chief Reporter Abu Saleh Akon.

The memorial meeting began with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Quran was recited by Naya Diganta’s co-editor Hafiz Maulana Mufti Belayet Hossain, and the prayers were led by Maulana Lutfur Rahman.

Journalists, officials, and employees of Naya Diganta were present at the event.
It is worth noting that Alamgir Mohiuddin passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital on Saturday, August 23, at 1:30 PM. He was 83 years old.

His namaj-e-janaza was held after Maghrib prayers at the Monipuripara Agricultural Laboratories Mosque at Farmgate in the capital and was later buried at the Rayerbazar Shaheed Buddhijibi graveyard.

In his personal life, Alamgir Mohiuddin was the father of two daughters. His elder daughter resides in Canada. His wife passed away four years ago.
