Youth electrocuted to death at Chawkbazar

A young man was electrocuted to death at a factory in the capital’s Chawkbazar area early on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain (19), son of Salam Mia, hailed from Bhatpara village of Brahmanbaria Sadar, reports BSS.

The accident occurred around 12:30 am in a bag factory at Nagini Center, Champatli, Chawkbazar, police and hospital sources said.

He was electrocuted from an electrical short-circuit and fell unconscious on the floor while punching a bag on a machine, the sources added.

Later, his colleagues rescued him unconscious and brought him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead at around 2 am.
