6 Biman employees involved with gold smuggling thru’ Ctg Airport

Police in Chittagong traced the involvement of six employees of Bangladesh Biman with gold smuggling through Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport.
 Among the involved, two were caught redhanded recently. The se involved employees are Traffic Assistant Md. Kamal, Traffic Department staff Md. Belal Hossain, Parimol, Md. Shafiq, Jasim and Selim.
Out of total suspects, Belal Hossain and Sk.Kamal were caught red handed alongwith 4.600kgs gold bars by customs intelligence officials on May 3 last. Sources said these suspects are closely involved with the passage of gold consignment from airport with the advantage of good amount of bribes which is not less than one lakh taka or more for each consignment.
The bribes depend on volume of smuggled gold , sources said. Additional Police commissioner(Crimes) Banaj Kumar told The New Nation that police obtained the names of four others from the detained two Biman employees held on May 3 last.
 These four employees are casual staff of Biman. Police is conducting drives to apprehend them . Police sources s aid detained Biman employees in their confession before the Chittagong Magistrate court disclosed the names of four others in their gang of gold smuggling .
Metro police sources said these six involved including two under arrest were working with a gold smuggling syndicate since long. Their prime responsibilities were to pass the gold so arrived in airport from abroad. After disclosing the names of four others relates to gold trafficking, Parimal, Shafiq and Jasim now remained absconding .
Police is vigorously trying to apprehend them . Manager o f Bangladesh Biman, ctg chapter Md. Alauddin told tht Selim, Belal and Kamal are working in Traffic Department for last 15 years and Shafiq, Parimol and Jasim working for the last 10 years.
CMP sources said this is the first time that two Biman staff are arrested with gold trafficking .
