Case filed against 80 in Lalabazar clash

A case has been filed in connection with the bloody clash between two local BNP leaders over the construction of a passenger shelter and drain in Lalabazar under South Surma in Sylhet.
The case was filed at the South Surma Police Station of SMP on Sunday night, with BNP leader Aminur Rahman Chowdhury Sifta K. as the main accused. He is the general secretary of Lalabazar Union BNP.
70-80 unknown people have been named as accused in the Emmala, mentioning the names of 6 people.
Confirming the information about the case, South Surma Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman said that 2 people arrested from the scene on the night of the clash (Friday) night have been arrested and sent to the court in this case.
The arrested are Shimul Mia (20) and Abdur Rahman (22). The clash took place at 9 pm on Friday. The clash lasted until 11 pm. During this time, traffic on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway was stopped, causing extreme suffering to passengers.
