DMP’s first batch of road safety training for school teachers completed
City Desk:
The first batch of road safety training for teachers of various schools of Dhaka at the Traffic Safety Education Centre (TSEC) was successfully completed on Monday by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The training was organised at the centre located at the DMP Training Academy, reports BSS.
This training is part of the Dhaka Road Traffic Safety Project (DRSP), a joint initiative of DMP and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The initiative aimed to provide teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills on road safety, so that they can spread awareness among their students and contribute to developing responsible road users of the future.
The training used interactive learning methods, which included road safety simulator tools, traffic signs, videos of real roads, and hands-on activities.
The teachers learned in detail about pedestrian safety, bicycle and vehicle safety, and the importance of traffic signs and road markings. Modules like quizzes, road sign placement activities and traffic hazard identification helped to enhance the skills of teachers.
