DU holds undergrad fresher reception

Dhaka University authorities yesterday welcomed new undergraduate students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and several other institutes with a reception and introductory programme.
The reception ceremony was held at the Teachers and Students Centre (TSC) of the university this morning. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Sayema Haque Bidisha attended the event as the chief guest, say BSS.

Director of the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, Prof Mehjabin Haque, presided over the function, while DU Treasurer Prof Jahangir Alam spoke as the special guest.
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Taiabur Rahman and Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed also extended formal greetings to the freshers.

Two students, speaking on behalf of the newcomers, expressed their views at the programme.
Speaking as the chief guest, Prof Sayema urged the students to maintain healthy relationships with peers and faculty members. She encouraged them to remain open and communicative throughout their academic journey.
