Last one year success of interim govt in education sector

Time-appropriate reforms and development plans have been adopted in the secondary and higher education sectors since the interim government took office.

The aim of these plans is to build a student-friendly, transparent and modern education system.
The government has already started the process of online attestation of the certificates of the universities, higher secondary and secondary exams for students willing to go abroad for study.

From now on, students who want to study aboard no need to attest their papers from the embassy once they get online attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will save both time and money of students, reducing harassment.

In the structural reform of the education administration, the government has taken the initiative to divide the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education into two separate directorates as Directorate of Secondary Education and Directorate of Higher Education.

Once the decision is implemented, it is expected that the decentralization of the education system and fast service delivery will be ensured. The plan was taken up in October 2024 and work is underway to implement it by December 2025.

An online transfer system has been introduced for private secondary level teachers, which was not there earlier. It will reduce the boredom caused by working in the same place for a long time and will inspire them to work in a new environment as they have the opportunity to change places.

In addition, the salaries and allowances of MPO-listed teachers and employees are being paid through the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system to ease the process.

Earlier, this process was done manually and teachers and employees had to visit different offices.
As per the recommendations of the Reform Commission, the process of forming a managing committee with government officials is underway to reduce political influence in the managing committees of colleges and secondary schools.
