PPPA organises training to build project capacity

The Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) organised a two-day basic training programme on Wednesday and Thursday at its Agargaon office in the capital, aiming to build capacity on PPP concepts, modalities, and project development.

The training programme, inaugurated and concluded by Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Chief Executive Officer (Secretary) of PPPA, was chaired by AKM Abul Kalam Azad, Director General of PPPA.

A total of 27 participants from various government and affiliated organizations participated in the program, including representatives from the Ministry of Industries, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Council, the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA), the Ministry of Planning, and various sugar mills across Bangladesh, says a press release.

In his closing remarks, Rafiqul Islam thanked the participants for their engagement in the important training session.

He acknowledged that while the PPP modality might be new to some institutions, Bangladesh already has over 80 projects in its PPP portfolio, with several successful outcomes.

He urged all agencies to identify unused or unde rutilised lands and submit project concept notes to the PPP Authority through their respective ministries.
