Free palm tree saplings distributed in Chitalmari

Under the Agricultural Rehabilitation Incentive Program, 140 palm tree saplings and materials were distributed free of cost to educational institutions in Chitalmari Upazila under Bagerhat district to increase production in the 2024-25 financial year, organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department.

The saplings were distributed at the Upazila Agriculture Office premises on Tuesday at 11 am with Tapas Das, UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer) of Chitalmari in the chair. Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishi Bid Md. Sifat Al Maruf, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Md. Habibur Rahman, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman, Social Service Officer Md. Sohel Parvez, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers, and teachers from the different educational institutions were present at the time.

Md. Sifat-al-Maruf, Upazila Agriculture Officer told reporters, a total of 140 palm tree saplings and materials were distributed free of cost to 7 educational institutions, 20 each in 7 Unions of the Upazila. The educational institutions are Tripalli Secondary School, Santoshpur Secondary School, Barabaria Secondary School, Mukta Bangla Charipalli Secondary School, Karatdia Government Primary School, Shaildah SESDP Model High School and Charbaniari Nesaria Dakhil Madrasa.
