Tigers thrash Lanka in 2nd T20I

Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by 83 runs in their second Twenty20 International (T20I) match at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Batting first, the Tigers piled up a mammoth total of 177 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then skittled out Sri Lanka for 94 off 15.2 overs.

Litton Das hit a captain’s knock of 76. His 50-ball innings was belted with five sixes and one four. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding batting performance.

Shamim Hossain notched up a spectacular 48. His 27-ball knock was studded with five fours and two sixes.

Towhid Hridoy made 31 from 25 deliveries featuring two fours and a sixer. Binura Fernando was the highest wicket taker of the Islanders with three wickets in the space of 31 runs.

Later, Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka reached the double digit figures making 32 and 20 runs respectively.

Rishad Hossain grabbed three wickets at the cost of 18 runs, while Shoriful Islam and Mohammad Saifuddin grabbed two wickets each for 12 and 21 runs respectively.
