’10 m people will be employed if BNP comes to power’

BNP standing committee member and former commerce minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said that if it comes to power, 10 million people will be employed in 18 months. If BNP comes to power, it will give the most importance to the information technology sector. Young people with a minimum SSC pass will be given jobs in the IT sector.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the Sylhet Business Dialogue program on Saturday (June 28) morning at the Sylhet Jalalabad Gas Auditorium, outlining the current challenges, prospects, and collective progress of the Sylhet and national economies.
Amir Khasru said, business must be kept out of politics, fascists must be freed. The BNP government will work to develop business and trade from the first day it comes to power. It will not be delayed even a day. Those who are interested in investing in agriculture will be provided with opportunities. BNP will also work towards exporting agricultural products abroad.
He also said that the creativity that existed in Bangladesh regarding the economy has been destroyed in the last 17 years. Doing politics like before will not work anymore, the mentality of the people of Bangladesh has changed. Business must be kept out of politics, but it must be free from fascists.
Former BGMEA President SM Fazlul Haque was present as a special guest at the event, which was chaired by BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Khandaker Abdul Muktadir and jointly conducted by Metropolitan BNP Vice-President Barrister Riyasad Azim and Metropolitan BNP Treasurer Enamul Quddus Chowdhury. Businessmen from various parts of Sylhet Division participated in the discussion.
