4 dead, 14 injured as bus rams truck on Dhaka-Mawa expressway

At least four people were killed and 14 others injured early Saturday when a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj.

The deceased have been identified as Zillur Rahman (65), Dr Jalal (65), Abdul Halim (55), and Hasib (32).

According to Shafiqul Islam, deputy assistant director of the Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, the accident took place between the Singpara-Nauapara and Hasara Bridge-2 points. A Dhaka-bound ‘Hamdan Express’ bus from Jashore reportedly rear-ended the truck, causing both vehicles to veer off and crash into the median railing.

Rescue workers rushed the injured to Srinagar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors confirmed the deaths of two more victims.
