Footballer Hamza Choudhury arrived in Syhet on Monday. Hamza is playing for Sheffield United Football Club in the European Football League. Choudhury is an English professional footballer who used to play as a defensive midfielder. Hamza arrived in Sylhet Airport from Manchester using a Manchester-Sylhet flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines yesterday.

Station Manager of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Shakil Ahmed formally received him at Sylhet Airport. A good number of officials of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) received him there with floral bouquet.

Then, Hamza Choudhury talked to the newsmen. He said, ” Amazing, amazing. I am excited to arrive here after a long time (11 years).”

Hamza Choudhury was born in England and he was grooming there. His father and mother are Bangladeshi. Hamza Choudhury has duel passport.

Hamza’s first campaign of Bangladesh is AFC Asian Cup qualifiers match. Hamza Choudhury will play for Bangladesh National Football team against India National Football team in AFC Asian Cup qualifiers game on March 25. The game is scheduled to be held in Shillong of India. It will be an away match for Bangladesh.

Hamza Choudhury has called the upcoming match as derby. Hamza said, ” Inshallah we shall win against India. We shall win the derby and we want to improve our position after winning the derby. We have a big dream.

I talked to Javier Cabrera. We shall progress our place after winning the match.”

Earlier, the 27-year-old defensive midfielder played for Leicester City Football Club in the English Premier League.

Hundreds of football fans of the country gathered outside and inside the Sylhet Airport to see Hamza Choudhury and talked to him.

Hamza came Bangladesh earlier, but this year’s tour is remarkable as he arrived here to play for Bangladesh Football team. Hamza Choudhury, his father, mother, wife and children came Bangladesh this time.

After staying two hours at the Sylhet Airport, Hamza Choudhury and his family members left that place and went to Snanghat Village of Habiganj District. He would take rest with his family members there and will join the Football squad today.

Meanwhile, Fahamedul Islam, who plays in Serie D of Italy for Olbia already joined the Bangladesh Football squad.

It may be mentioned that Jamal Bhuyan is a Danish-born Bangladeshi who plays for Bangladesh National Football team. Jamal Bhuyan played in football competition of Denmark.

He plays as a defensive midfielder. Besides, Tariq Kazi is a Finish-born Bangladeshi who plays for Bangladesh National Football team. His position in the field is defender.
