Interim govt backed by legal docs, people’s wish, says HC

The High Court (HC) has rejected a petition challenging the formation of the current interim government, saying in the full text of its order that the government is backed by legal documents and the will of the people.

The full text of the order which was released recently, said the writ was misleading, hateful and harassing.

The High Court bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi passed the order, after holding a hearing on the writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Mohammd Mohsin Rashid, reports BSS.

“The president of Bangladesh took an advisory opinion under Article 106 of the constitution in a unique situation. He acted according to the opinion. So, it is supported by legal documents, supported by the will of the people of Bangladesh. The mass uprising that took place in July-August 2024 is part of our history and we hope the people will be taken care of for many years to come,” the order said.
