A regional workshop of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) ‘Extension on high-yielding and popular varieties of undeveloped varieties and inclusion of cropping patterns in Rangpur region’ was held, on Thursday (December 5) noon, BINA Rangpur Sub-Centre, BINA Director General Dr. Abul Kalam Azad was the chief guest at the workshop. BINA SRAB Project Director Dr. Mahbubul Alam Talukder presided over the event, while special guests included Obaidur Rahman Mondal, Additional Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Rangpur Region, Belal Uddin, Principal of Rangpur Agricultural Training Institute, Md. Sariful Islam, Principal of Gaibandha Agricultural Training Institute, and BINA SRAB Project Deputy Project Director Dr. Mohammad Ashikur Rahman.
The speakers were Dr. Mohammad Ali, Officer-in-Charge of BINA Rangpur Center, Md. Enamul Haque, Deputy Director of Rangpur Agricultural Extension Department, Saiful Alam, Deputy Director of Kurigram Agricultural Extension Department, Md. Maqbul Hossain, farmer, etc.
In the workshop under the project to strengthen BINA’s research activities, the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Extension Department, Upazila Agricultural Officers, seed entrepreneurs, discussed the yield, expansion and problems of BINA’s invented crop varieties.
