Int’l Day of Persons with Disabilities observed in Kishoreganj

The 33 th International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the 26th National Disabled Day–’24 was observed in the country on Tuesday in a befitting manner.
In Kishoreganj Department of Social Services including District Administration arranged a colour full rally, discussion and wheels chair distribution among the disable persons marking the day.
Them : ”Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future “.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishorganj, Fouzia Khan attanded as chief guest and AdC(General) Rubel Mahmud, promoted SP Md. Mustaque Sarkar as special guests, while Deputy Director (DD) of Social Services, Md.Kamruzzaman khan in the chair.
It was addressed among others, Deputy Civil Surgeon (DCS) dr.Didarul Islam, Mohasin khan, Deputy Director (DD) of Islamic Foundation, CAB district president,also senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Senior Advocate Abdur Rashid, Freedom Fighter Nizamuddin, Assistant Professor Samiul Haque Mollah and sadar upazila Social Services officer Monir Hossain.
SP Mustaqe Sarker underscored the need for providing proper care and training to the people with disabilities so that they could contribute to the overall development of the country.
Deputy Director Kamruzzaman khan said that People with disabilities are an integral part of our society. The overall development of the state is not possible without them,”
“Therefore, to transform them into skilled manpower, the government is implementing various development programmes including providing healthcare, education and training and creating employment through the National Disability Development Foundation also known as Jatiyo Protibondhi Unnayan Foundation under the Ministry of Social Welfare,”
Senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito said, the government as well as the people of all levels of society including the voluntary, local and foreign organizations concerned to work together for the overall development of people with disabilities.
