Jamaat backs BNP’s nat’l unity call

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed its support for BNP’s call to create national unity for the greater good of the country and its people.
Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqul Rahman addressed the media on Thursday evening after a meeting with Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Prior to speaking with journalists, Dr Shafiqul led a delegation of four senior party leaders to the chief adviser’s residence in Jamuna, where they discussed key national issues. The discussions focused on key national issues, including the formation of a national unity government.
He reiterated his party’s support for the creation of national unity, aligning with BNP’s stance on this critical issue for the country’s future.
Dr Shafiqul Rahman emphasised that the meeting with the chief advisor revolved around the importance of national unity on critical issues.
He said, “The discussions also addressed recent concerns that have troubled the public, and explored ways to solve these problems through collective action and unity. The meeting addressed various issues causing public discontent, particularly the rising cost of living.
“Prices need to remain affordable and within the buying capacity of everyone. Additionally, ahead of Ramadan, we discussed preventing any artificial shortages during the holy month to avoid exacerbating public hardships.”
When questioned by journalists regarding the upcoming elections, Dr Shafiqul Rahman called for swift implementation of minimum reforms before the elections take place.
