Tigresses face Proteas women in Women’s T20 WC today

Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team will face South Africa National Women’s Cricket team in their last Group-B match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (WC) today at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The game will start at 8:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite channel Nagorik Television will telecast the match live.
South Africa gained four points from three matches, while Bangladesh earned two points from as many matches. Bangladesh’s semi-final hope went into vapour.
The Tigresses made an auspicious start in their World Cup campaign as they defeated Scotland by 16 runs in their first Group-B match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 3.
Bangladesh lost to England by 21 runs in their second Group-B match at the same venue on October 5.
The Tigresses tasted a massive eight-wicket defeat by West Indies in their third Group-B match at the same venue.
After tasting a massive defeat to the Windies, Captain of Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team Nigar Sultana said, ” We had a good start in our innings. But in the mid of the innings we played dot balls and threw our wickets. The bowlers of our opponent team bowled really well in the mid of our innings. We could not hit good shots and we missed to take single runs. Thus, we were under pressure.”
” We have to improve our batting. We got a good learning after playing Thursday’s match. We learn that how to be positive approaches in our next big tournaments. Players of our side are not very much experienced. We should give attention in our batting. Our bowlers bowled up to the mark in every matches. We have to strengthen our batting unit if we want to perform well in such kind of tournaments, she added.
