‘Unity of pro-lib forces needed to protect independence’

General Secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad SA Malek said here yesterday there is an urgent need to forge a greater unity of the pro-liberation forces to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country.
“Bangladesh became independent under the leadership of Bangabandhu. We must halt the anti-liberation forces to protect the country’s independence and sovereignty. Unity of the pro-liberation forces is needed for the noble cause,” he told a discussion.
Bangabandhu Parishad organised the discussion titled “Birthday of Bangladesh” in the auditorium of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) at Segunbagicha here marking the 95th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Journalist Shafiqur Rahman, Chairman of Television and Film Studies of Dhaka University Prof Dr Abu Jafar Md Shafiul Alam, president of Agrani Bank unit of the parishad Md Mobarak Hossain and president of Sonali Bank unit of the parishad MA Alauddin spoke on the occasion, among others.
