Woman’s throat-slit body recovered in Katiadi

Police have recovered on Friday the throat-slit body of the expatriate’s wife in Katiadi town of Kishoreganj.
The deceased Smriti Akhter (22), daughter of Manik Miah and wife of Amin Bhuiyan, was a resident of the Qutar City. Smriti’s body was recovered from an abandoned cornfield in Haluapara area in Katiadi Upazila on Friday morning.
Locals and Police sources said Smriti Akter got married to Amin Bhuiyan, a Qatar immigrant of Masua village of Katiadi, four years ago. Seven months ago, Amin Bhuiyan left his wife in his in-laws’ house and went to Qatar.
Smriti lived in Akter’s father’s house. On Friday morning her throat-slit body was found lying in an abandoned corn field. When the police informed, rush to the spot and recovered body.
The incident was held over extramarital affair. Police also arrested a youth named Mujibur in this connection.
Kishoreganj Police Super Md. Rashel Sheikh PPM (Bar), BPM said that after the body was recovered, a report was prepared and sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNIMCH) morgue for post-mortem.
