Sylhet’s Sirajul gets AIP award

M Sirajul Islam get “Agriculturally Important Person (AIP)-2021” Award for his outstanding contribution to agriculture sector. Agriculture Minister Md Abdus Shahid handed over the awards at Osmani Memorial auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday (July 7).
He get award under the category of agricultural, commercial farming and agricultural processing industries.
Sirajul Islam is the owner of Siraj Multipurpose Farms in Maijgawn under Fenchuganj upazila in Sylhet district. The awardees were selected under five categories. The award was given under the AIP policy-2019 with a view to recognising individuals and organisations for their contributions to agriculture, fisheries and livestock and forest sectors.
Minister Shahid dubbed AIP recipients “captain of the ship” saying the country’s agriculture sector is moving forward for their contributions. A total of 22 people have been honoured with “Agriculturally Important Person (AIP)-2021” for their outstanding contribution to agriculture sector.
The government honoured 13 persons with AIP award in 2020 for the first time.
