Bashundhara blank Ctg Abahani in BPL Football

Reigning champions Bashundhara Kings blanked Chittagong Abahani Limited by five goals to nil in their match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.

It was the second leg match of Bashundhara Kings. Earlier, Bashundhara Kings defeated Chitaagong Abahani Limited by three goals to nil in their first leg match.

League leaders Bashundhara Kings led the points table grabbing 28 points from 11 matches, while Chittagong Abahani Limited took the eighth spot collecting 10 points from as many matches.

Bashundhara’s foreign recruit Dorielton put his team ahead in the second minute of the play.

Bashundahra were awarded a penalty kick in the 12th minute of the match.

Raihan of Chittagong Abahani touched the ball at the danger zone of Chittagong Abahani. Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robinho doubled the margin by a spectacular spot-kick.

Rakib of Bashundhara increased the tally into 3-0 by shot using a long through pass of his teammate Robinho.

Bashundhara’s Uzbek recruit Asror Gofurov made it 4-0 by a spectacular angular shot in the injury time of the first half.

After the lemon-break, Rakib sealed the fate of the match (5-0) using a combination of Robinho and Dorielton in the 53rd minute of the match. Rakib found the net by cross of Dorielton.

After taking a 5-0 lead, players of Bashundhara Kings were not so aggressive.

Meanwhile, Rahmatganj MFS defeated Brothers Union by two goals to nil in the day’s other match.
