Rain expected in Dhaka

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at one or two places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, said a met office release on Friday.

The weather may remain mainly dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.

A trough of low lies over West Bengal and the adjoining area. Seasonal lows over the South Bay.

The highest temperature on Thursday was 39.2°C in Rajshahi, and the lowest temperature of 20°C was recorded in Sylhet on Friday.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours until 6am was recorded at 78 millimetres (mm) in Sylhet.
