CHANDPUR: Eight shops were burnt to ashes at dead of night on Tuesday last at Kachua Sadar Bazar. It is supposed that the fire, originating from electric short circuit, spread around rapidly and engulfed the shops. Kochua Firefighters led by their leader Mahtab Mandal brought the flames under control within two hours’ rantic efforts. Loss in the fire was roughly estimated at about Tk. 1crore. Affected shopkeepers with tears said, ahead of Eid, fire has rendered them helpless.
