Tushar Imran hits double ton for Khulna Sylhet Div take 447-run lead over Dhaka Div

Sylhet Division took a huge 447-run lead over league leader Dhaka Division on the 2nd day of the 4th round four-day matches of the Walton 16th National Cricket League (NCL) at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Tuesday.
Sylhet Division resumed their first innings Tuesday morning with overnight 291 for 3 in 90 overs and posted 500 for all in 161 overs with night watch batsman Alok Kapali (118) scoring a polished 175 runs off 339 balls that featured 19 boundaries.
Lower order Enamul Haque Jr (35) and Nazmul Hossain Milon (31) were the other notable contributors for Sylhet Division, apart from Rajin Saleh’s 118 runs on the first day (Monday).
Mosharraf Hossain, who took one wicket on the first day, completed his tally with five wickets for 109 runs. Mohammad Sharif and Shahadat Hossain took two wickets each for 85 and 92 runs respectively.
In reply, Dhaka Division opened the first innings Tuesday afternoon and scored 53 for 2 in 16 overs at stumps on day-two to trail by 447 runs.
Abdul Majid and Raqibul Hasan were batting with 33 and 8 runs respectively.
At BKSP ground-3 in Savar, Rangpur Division took a comfortable 455 runs lead after restricting Barisal Division to 63 for 2 in 16 overs on the 2nd day of the four-day league.
Rangpur Division resumed the first innings Tuesday morning with overnight 268 for 4 in 92 overs and declared the innings at 518 for 9 in 163.1 overs with night watch batsman Naeem Islam (32) contributing a ton scoring 147 runs off 340 balls that included 20 fours and a six.
Ariful Islam (52), Dhiman Ghosh (47) and, Suhrawardi Shuvo (31) were the other notable scorers for Rangpur, apart from Liton Das’s 175 runs on Monday.
National color spinner Sohag Gazi and Nasum Ahmed claimed four wickets each for 137 and 144 runs respectively. In reply, Barisal Division scored 63 for 2 in 16 overs to trail by 455 runs against Rangpur Division in the first innings.
Fazle Mahmud and Mohammad Sajib were batting with 28 and 15 runs respectively. At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Khulna Division resumed the first innings with overnight 256 for 5 and declared the innings at 560 for 6 in 159 overs taking a 497 run-lead against Rajshahi Division on the 2nd day (Tuesday).
Former national cricketer Tushar Imran, who was batting with 63 runs, completed a double century making 203 runs off 372 balls with 23 boundaries while another night-watch batsman Ziaur Rahman (21) also made a century making 204-ball 164 runs with 17 fours and seven sixes.
Saqlain Sajib grabbed three wickets for 164 runs while Farhad Hossain took two for 93 runs.
In reply, Rajshahi Division opened the first innings Tuesday afternoon and scored 63 for 2 in 24 overs at stumps on the 2nd day (Tuesday) with Habibur Rahman and Farhad Hossain batting with 28 and 22 runs respectively.
At BKSP ground-2 in Savar, Dhaka Metropolis resumed the first innings with overnight score 290 for 6 in 91 overs and were all out for 496 in 143.2 overs against Chittagong Division on the 2nd day Tuesday.
Tail-ender Mohammad Shahid scored another century for Dhaka Metro making 102 runs off 110 balls with eight fours and seven sixes, apart from two down Marshall Ayub’s 111 runs on the first day (Monday).
Noor Hossain, who picked up five wickets on the first day, completed his bowling grabbing six wickets for 150 runs while Mohammad Saifuddin took two for 46 runs.
In reply, Chittagong Division faced big trouble scoring 98 for 5 in 37 overs at stumps on the 2nd day (Tuesday).
Saikat Ali and Elias Sunny took two wickets each for 21 and 23 runs respectively.
