75 teen gang arrested in last two days

Staff Reporter :
Harun-or-Rashid, Additional Commissioner of DMP (DB Chief), has issued a stern warning, indicating that individuals advocating for the bail of youth gang members will face consequences.

He made this declaration while briefing reporters at DB’s Minto Road office on Wednesday (6 March).

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the DB Chief emphasized that even the children of affluent families are becoming embroiled in youth gangs, contributing to a surge in criminal activities such as brawls and homicides within local communities.

In response to this alarming trend, Harun-or-Rashid affirmed that the crackdown on youth gangs will persist unabated.

He said, 75 youth gang members have been arrested in last two days. Due to the violence of the gangs, the peace and order of the society is being destroyed.

This gang has been dealing with drugs, extortion, eve teasing, threats, intimidation of school and college girls and create panic at various times.

They have been dominating the area under the umbrella of some big brothers.
In the last two years, about 34 teenagers have been killed in these gang attacks.

The DB chief said that the social degradation is occurring day by day due to gang culture.
Besides, these teenagers are living a disorderly life like taking drugs without studying in school.

Detective police are also working to detain them. But I think parents should keep track of where their children go, with whom they associate. Also, parents should give time to their children, DB chief added.
