Bailey Road Fire 2 return home from Sheikh Hasina’s burn unit

Among the injured in the fire at the Green Cozy Cottage building on Bailey Road in the capital, two persons under treatment have returned home. They were undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

In this incident, three more Sheikh Hasina burns are undergoing treatment.

Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute resident doctor Md. Tariqul Islam confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon.

He said, “Today we released two and the remaining three are being treated. Three people are being treated for inhalation injuries and they are still in danger until now.”

The two patients who have returned home are Anant Kazi (20) and Fardin (18). Besides that, still three patients are under treatment, Rakib (25), Mehdi Hassan (22) and Sumaiya (31).

A fire broke out at the Green Cozy Cottage building on Bailey Road at around 9:50 pm on February 29. 46 people lost their lives. 44 of the bodies have been handed over to their relatives. DNA samples have been taken from the remaining two bodies. Their bodies have been kept in Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue. After the DNA test, the body will be handed over to the relatives.
