49 kg gold seized at Ctg airport

Customs officials recovered 420 gold bars weighing nearly 49 kilograms from a flight of “Fly Dubai” at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Thursday night.
Assistant commissioner of airport customs Moshiur Rahman said the customs officials recovered the gold bars from a Fly Dubai flight (FZ-589) that landed at the airport around 8.30 pm.
“The gold bars were found an abandoned state inside a book at the bathroom of the flight”, Moshiur Rahman said adding that none was arrested in this connection.
Market price of the gold bars weighing 48.5 kilograms is about Taka 20 crore 20 lakh , he added.
