Fire at Nilkhet market under control

The fire that broke out at Gausul Azam Super Market in city’s Nilkhet area has been doused after half an hour.

Earlier, the fire originated around 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon at a shop on the 1st floor of the market, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

He said that on information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the flame around 4:55 pm.

No casualties were reported in the incident.

However, the cause of the fire could not be ascertained instantly, the fire official said.
