Berger Training Institute, BMET to boost painter training

Business Desk :

Berger Training Institute (BTI) and the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) have joined hands to enhance painter training.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between BTI and BMET recently in the conference room of the BMET office in Dhaka.
As per this agreement, skill development will be imparted through two-day training to approximately 5,000 painters annually to enhance their work skills by the trainers of Technical Training Centers under BTI and BMET, jointly using Government Technical Training Centers.
NSDA will conduct programs aimed at preparing for ‘Recognition of Prior Experience’ (RPL) training.
On behalf of BMET, Director General (Grade-1) Saleh Ahmed Mujaffor, Additional Director General (Training) Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Director (Training Management) Engr. Md. Salah Uddin and many others were present at the contract signing ceremony.
Chief Marketing Officer of Berger Paints and chairman of BTI Tanzeen Ferdous Alam and principal of BTI Md Solaiman Mia were present on behalf of BTI.
BMET Director General Saleh Ahmed Mujaffor said: “BTI has come forward with a noble objective to enhance the skills of the workforce of the country, which is a shining example in the development of the industry. We express solidarity with their initiative. BMET will always stand by BTI to create a skilled workforce in the paints sector as per the demand of the domestic and international markets in the coming days.”
Tanzeen Ferdous Alam, CMO of Berger Paints and chairman of Berger Training Institute, said: “I am very happy to inform you that BTI has already trained 20 women under a 360-hour short course in light of the NSDA curriculum and certified them through NSDA.
Currently, these trained women painters are working in Berger. To further encourage this activity, the Director General of BMET advised using the various women’s technical training centers in the country to bring women under training and develop skilled painters.
I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the honorable Director General for this wise advice. Hopefully, through this initiative, we will be able to create a skilled workforce in the paints industry together.”
He also mentioned that till now ‘Berger Training Institute’ (BTI) is the only institute registered by NSDA in the paint industry.
