Seafarer alleges DoS for violating training rules, regulations

The Department of Shipping (DoS) has violated the rules and regulations by stopping the training of 200 individuals who have been selected for the training.

Rather DoS has allegedly made a list of inefficient candidates for the training in different courses including pre-sea rating course which is totally against the rules and regulations.

Mohammad Nazrul Islam, a seafarer of Barishal, has lodged a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for taking action against the alleged persons as per the directives of the High Court.

He filed a writ petition with the High Court and the Apex court on Feb 5 directed the ACC to investigate the matter within three months to settle it.

Nazrul alleged that DoS is imparting training through financial corruptions for the inefficient candidates who did not have real names, signatures and identities.

He further said that such attempts by the DoS are totally against the interest of the State for violation of the rules and policies.
