400 cops to get BPM-PPM

Four hundred police personnel have been selected to receive the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and the President Police Medal (PPM) for their gallantry performance, heroic contribution and service.

A notification issued by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs published the list of awardees on Thursday.

The recipients have been selected according to the activities of the period from December 1, 2022, to January 10, 2024.

The notification says that 35 personnel will receive BPM, 60 PPM for outstanding bravery and heroic deeds, 95 will get BPM-Service and 210 have been selected for PPM-Service for solving important cases, crime control, efficiency, devotion to duty, integrity and disciplined behaviour.
This time, the highest numbers of policemen are getting the awards.

BPM is the highest police honour, followed by PPM. Recipients of these medals receive a one-time sum and monthly allowance and can use the title at the end of their name.

Apart from that, many officials who sacrificed their lives while serving are awarded these medals.
