AGM held Jamuna Oil earns Tk 231 cr profit

The annual general meeting of Jamuna Oil Company Ltd was held at a posh hotel in Chittagong on Saturday last with its Chairman Md. Abu Baker Siddique in the chair. Company Secretary Md. Nazmul Hoque assisted the chairman to conduct the meeting. Among others, Chairman of BPC AM Badrudoza, NBR member Md. Alauddin, Additonal Secretary of Finance Ministry Momtazul Ala Shakoor Ahmed, Additonal Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources ministry Rafiqul Islam, Joint secretary Abdul Hakim, Directors KM Hasan Kabir Arif, Mozammel Hoque Bhuyia, Share holders Director and Managing Director of Jamuna Alimuddin Ahmed attended the meeting among others.
The meeting was informed that the company earned Tk.231.68 cr post tax profit and approved 90% cash dividend i.e. @ Tk.9.00 per share and stock dividend out of profit for 2013-14 fiscal. The meeting also told that the company deposited in the national exchequer Tk.77.73 cr as VAT, income tax and other statuary charges in the fiscal of 2013-14. The board of directors and the shareholders of the company expressed their satisfaction on the present activities and financial result of the company, sources said.
