DNCRP fines 10 businesses Tk.108000

Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Sunday conducted drives in Katiadi and Bhairab port town of Kishoreganj to 10 businesses Tk. 108000 including sweet shops for selling experienced and spurious products.

The operation was led by Assistant Director (AD) of DNCRP in Kishoreganj Rehdoy Ronjon Bonik supported by District Police.

In Bhairab, six businesses, during the raid, children’s food stalls are decorated with various kinds of tempting food. Shopkeepers keep different kinds of baby food including chocolate, chanachur, pickles and different types of biscuits.

Most of these food items are not approved by BSTI. There are even baby foods products banned and fined Tk.53000. In Katiadi, at least 4 traders fines tk. 55,000 for selling experienced, adulteration.
