Cumilla win a thriller in BPL Cricket

Comilla Victorians posted a thrilling four-wicket win over Fortune Barishal in the eighth match of the Ispahani Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at the flood-lit Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Sent into bat first, Fortune Barishal piled up a fighting total of 161 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Comilla Victorians overhauled the winning target making 162 for the loss of six wickets when they had just one ball to spare.
Imrul Kayes of Comilla played the key role for the win against Barishal. Imrul hit a marvelous 52.
His 41-ball innings had three sixes and four fours. Fortune Barishal lost their early three wickets for 43 runs.
Second-down Soumya Sarkar and third-down Mushfiqur Rahim built a worthy partnership putting together 66 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Soumya was bowled out by Mustafizur Rahman when Barishal’s total was 109 for the loss of four wickets.
Soumya hit a fine 42. His 31-ball innings was belted with four fours and two sixes.
After dismissal of Soumya, Fortune Barishal failed to make any notable partnership.
Mushfiqur Rahim notched up his team’s highest of 62. He hit six fours and two sixes in his 44-ball knock. He was also a victim of Mustafizur Rahman.
Mustafizur Rahman grabbed three wickets in the space of 32 runs, while Roston Chase and Matthew Forde claimed two wickets each for 25 and 33 runs respectively.
