Commuter train on Cox’s Bazar-Ctg route begins next month

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the railway on November 11, 2023 in the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar to promote the country’s tourism. Then Cox’s Bazar Express was inaugurated on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route on December 1 last year.
Due to the huge popularity of this train, the second train ‘Tourist Express’ was launched on January 10.
Three thousand and 130 passengers are traveling daily in these two pairs of intercity trains on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route.
Now, after these two trains, considering the demand of the passengers, the commuter train is also being launched on the Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong route in the month of February.
Two commuter trains will ply daily on this newly-constructed railway, the authorities said.
In this regard, Cox’s Bazar Iconic Station Master Golam Rabbani said, considering the needs of passengers, commuter trains are also being started on the Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong route from next month.
