Family, friends demand fair investigation

Family members, friends and colleagues of a Bangladesh Bank official, who died after a brick chip fell on her head from a building in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area on Wednesday, formed a human chain in front of Raju Sculpture in Dhaka University area on Saturday, demanding fair investigation into the incident.

Bangladesh Bank assistant director Dipu Sana was walking to her Moghbazar residence on Wednesday evening and a brick chip fell on her head while she was crossing Siddheswari’s Fakhruddin point at about 6:00pm, leaving her dead on the spot, reports media.

Demonstrators urged the government to take necessary steps against those involved in the incident.

The human chain was organised by Bridge, an organisation of Dhaka University students of batch 2005-2006.

Uncle of the victim, Swapan Kumar Sana said that they got the news of Dipu’s death at about 8:00pm on Wednesday.
