Ex-president of Maldives Nasheed praises PM Hasina

Former President of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed on Thursday praised the free, fair and participatory parliamentary elections of Bangladesh held on January 7.

He came up with the appreciation while calling on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence-Ganabhaban, reports media.

Nasheed congratulated Hasina on being re-elected as the premier, Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon said.

The premier expressed satisfaction with the existing relationship between the two countries–Bangladesh and the Maldives.
She said Bangladesh’s friendship with the Maldives is very old.
