Lack of trust prevails among voters Says Dr Badiul

Badiul Alam Majumder, Secretary of Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Shujon) and Advocacy Forum for Good Governance said there is huge lack of trust among the people over the 12th national polls which were reflected in the polls by thin presence of the voters in the polling centers across the country.
The expert suggested the government to solve the issue through dialogue. In a short interview with The New Nation he told this on Monday, “There are crisis of trust among the people over the election.
The less voter presence was found almost all polling centers across the country.”
The less voters presence showed that the voters had no confident over the national polls.
In this circumstances, the democracy is in the risk of weak due to less interests of the people to cast their voting rights.
Replying to a query, Badiul Alam Majumder said, the people will decide that if the election get acceptance or not.
“But the government has a liability to overcome the crisis through arranging dialogues with the political parties that how to bring back confidence among the people of electing their own representatives to the Parliament,” the expert said.
He said if the government wants to develop the socio-economic condition of the country they have to make the democracy more strong by creating people’s enthusiasm to the democratic institutions and activities.
