AL candidates win 4 out of 6 constituencies in Kishoreganj

The names of the winners of the six parliament constituencies of Kishoreganj in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Elections have been announced unofficially. Awami League,Boat symbol won 4 of the six seats. Jatiya Party (Japa) General Secretary won in one and independent candidate in the other. The results show that 5 out of the existing six MPs have been re-elected in the 6 constituencies of Kishoreganj.
The Returning Officer (RO) also Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj, Md. Abul Kalam Azad formally announced the result at Sunday midnight.
In Kishoreganj-1 (Sadar-Hosseinpur) seat Dr. Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi MP, daughter of the first interim president of Bangladesh, Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam. She got 77, 348 votes in boat symbol. His closest rival is his elder brother Major General (retd) Syed Safayetul Islam, an independent candidate for Eagle symbol got 74,062 votes.
Kishoreganj -2 (Pakundia – Katiadi): Awami League leader ex. MP Advocate Sohrab Uddin won in Eagle symbol and got 89,539 votes. His closet candidate for the boat symbol, is Bangabandhu Assassination Investigation Officer (IO) former Additional DIG Abdul Kahar Akand got 68,692 votes.
Kishoreganj-3 (Karimganj-Tarail) Jatiya Party (Japa) General Secretary Mujibul Haque Channu MP symbol Langal got 57, 530 votes. His closest Retired Major Nasimul Haque got 42,235 votes.
Kishoreganj-4 (Itna-Mithamain-Ashtagram) Former president Abdul Hamid son Rezwan Ahmed Taufiq MP won by getting 20 8 738 votes with boat symbol. His closest Jatiya Party candidate Abdul Wahab got 3, 735 votes.
