Kiwis level T20I series beating Tigers by 17 runs

New Zealand Cricket team leveled the Twenty20 International (T20I) series 1-1 beating the Tigers by 17 runs, according to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) Method in the third T20I at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui of New Zealand on Sunday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 110 in the 19.2 overs.
In reply, New Zealand made 95 for the loss of five wickets in the 14.4 overs before the rain halted the innings. Thus, the Kiwis won the match by 17 runs as per DLS Method.
The Tigers registered a five-wicket victory over the Kiwis in the first T20I at Napier in New Zealand on December 27.
The second T20I match between Bangladesh and New Zealand was washed out by rain at Mount Maunganui on December 29.
Bangladesh had a poor start as opener Soumya Sarkar (4) was trapped leg before wicket by Tim Southee when the visitors’ total was just 4.
Opener Rony Talukdar and one-down Najmul Hossain Shanto repaired the damage contributing together 27 runs for the second wicket partnership before Shanto was caught at the point by Finn Allen off Adam Milne when the Tigers’ score was 31 for the loss of two wickets.
Shanto scored 17 from 15 balls featuring four fours.
After Shanto’s dismissal, Bangladesh failed to make any notable partnership.
Towhid Hridoy, Afif Hossain, Rony Talukdar and Rishad Hossain added 16, 14, 10 and 10 runs respectively to the Bangladesh total
Mitchell Santner captured four wickets in the space of 16 runs, while Adam Milne, Tim Southee and Ben Sears bagged two wickets each for 23, 25 and 28 runs respectively.
Later, opener Finn Allen top-scored with 38 runs. He hit two sixes and four fours in his 31-ball innings.
James Nessham remained unbeaten with 28 runs. His 20-ball knock was belted with two sixes and one four.
Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten with 18 runs. He hit one four in his 20-ball innings.
Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam and right-arm spinner Mahedi Hasan grabbed two wickets each for 17 and 18 runs respectively.
Mitchell Santner was adjudged the Man of the Match. Shoriful Islam was adjudged the Player of the Series.
