Four electrocuted in M’singh

Four members of a family died after being electrocuted in Ghoshpala Purbopara village under Nandail upazila of Mymensingh on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Jamal Uddin, 34, his mother Anowara Begum, 55, and two minor daughters Faria Islam Anika, 04, and Fahmida Islam Faiza, 06.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nandail Model Police Station Abdul Majed confirmed the matter to the media saying that Jamal Uddin used to charging his auto-rickshaw at home every day.
On Saturday afternoon, the vehicle got electrified accidentally and he came in contact with it while taking it out.
Hearing his crying for help, his mother and two minor daughters tried to pull him out but all of them were electrocuted, OC said.
After the incident, the bodies were recovered from the spot and legal measures over the incident are under process, OC added.
These type of incidents are increasing daily across the country.
But no effective measures have been taken yet to reduce such incident. It is to be noted that at least 80 people were killed so far being electrocuted in last 6 months of this year.
