Colder days ahead: Weather shift on horizon from Sunday

Over the past 24 hours, the country has experienced a slight decrease in the minimum temperature, although the severity of winter remains relatively low.

The Meteorological Department indicated that night temperatures might drop starting Sunday, potentially ushering in colder weather in various parts of the country, particularly in the north, reports media.

People from various walks of life, including low-income individuals, have been able to comfortably attend work in the morning.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 11.8 degrees Celsius in Tentulia, Panchagarh, at 9am on Friday. Three hours earlier, the temperature was 12.2 degrees Celsius at 6am.

According to meteorological data, temperatures ranging from 12-12.4 degrees Celsius were recorded in Panchagarh for the three days from December 26-28.

On Thursday, the minimum temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 17.3 degrees Celsius, which decreased to 17.1 degrees Celsius on Friday.

The 24-hour weather forecast predicts dry conditions with temporary partly cloudy skies across the entire country.

Moderate to dense fog may occur over river basins during the midnight to morning period, with light to moderate fog expected in other parts of the country.

Night and day temperatures are anticipated to remain relatively stable nationwide during this period.

Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said: “The night temperature may slightly decrease in the northern part of the country on Saturday and Sunday, and both night and day temperatures may further decrease in the next five days.”
