Heart patients are
more at risk
in winter

In winter, the risk of high blood pressure, heart pain, heart attack and death increases with the increase in severity of winter.

Blood pressure can increase by 12 to 18 millimeters under the influence of winter, which has been proven in research.

Blood pressure increases due to blood vessel constriction under the influence of cold. It increases the risk of blood pressure.

According to the latest data of the World Health Organization, at least 180 million people die of heart disease in the world every year. Eighty percent of them die of heart attack and stroke.

In Bangladesh this number is over 3 lakh. Treatment after a heart attack becomes quite expensive, especially in middle-income countries like Bangladesh where many patients find it difficult to afford the treatment.

In this case, prevention is better than cure. If you have regular checkups and live a healthy life, the risk of heart disease is reduced to a large extent.

On the other hand, the information of the Department of Health says that more than 1 lakh 12 thousand people die of non-communicable diseases in Bangladesh every year, of which the most 40 thousand people die of heart disease.

The risk of heart attack and stroke increases manifold due to increased blood clotting tendency. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world. Just because we don’t know these heart disease statistics in advance, no fear of heart disease works among us.

Among the many causes of heart disease are high blood pressure and atherosclerosis. Along with age, structural changes in the heart and arteries are also largely responsible for heart disease. Heart disease usually affects the elderly. That is why in winter, elderly people and specially people with known heart diseases should remain extra cautious.
