Polling officers training starts in Daulatkhan

A training workshop for presiding, assistant presiding and polling officers of 56 centers in Daulatkhan Upazila under 116 Bhola 2 Constituency has been completed ahead of the 12th
National Assembly elections to be held on January 7. The workshop ended yesterday (21 December). Earlier on Wednesday (December 20) at 9 in the morning, Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Md Arifuzzaman inaugurated the opening of the event. At this time he said, presiding officer will conduct the poll in accordance with the law and also be responsible for maintaining law and order at the polling station and shall report to the
Returning Officer about any fact or incident which may, in his opinion, affect the fairness of the poll.
“This year’s training will be in the light of a recent change in the RPO 1972, which states presiding officers will be able to stop voting if they do not get the assistance of election officials and law enforcers”, said S P Md. Mahiduzzaman BPM who was present at the event as special guest. District Election Officer Md Zahid Hossain presided over the workshop.
