Kings become champions in Independence Cup Football

Bashundhara Kings became champions of the Independence Cup Football defeating Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 2-1 goals in the final at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Monday.
The first half was locked 0-0.
After the barren first half, Rafiq of Bashundhara Kings roughly charged a Mohammedan booter in the 47th minute of the play. Thus, the referee straightly showed red card to Rafique. As a result Bashundhara Kings became 10-man team.
Emmanuel Sunday of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited put his team ahead by a header using a left side corner kick of his teammate Muzaffar Muzaffarov in the 48th minute of the match.
Mohammedan failed to keep the lead as Rakib Hossain of Bashundhara Kings got a pass in the D-Box of Mohammedan Sporting Club and Rakib Hossain equalised the margin by a power-packed shot in the 49th minute of the game.
In the 82nd minute, Dorielton of Bashundhara Kings got a through pass from his teammate Miguel and Dorielton made no mistake to struck into the Mohammedan goalbar.
Earlier, Mohammedan’s foreign recruits Muzaffarov and Souleymane Diabate created some notable moves. But the forwards of Mohammedan failed to convert those.
Bashundhara got the easiest chance in the 38th minute of the match. Dorielton got the ball from a cross of his teammate Sohel Rana but Dorielton’s header went wide.
Bashundhara got the first chance in the 14th minute of the play.
Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robinho got a cross from his teammate Saad Uddin but Robinho’s forceful shot was saved by Mohammedan goalie Sujon.
