Victory Day celebrated in Gaibandha

The Great Victory Day 2020 was celebrated in the district today in a befitting manner with a renewed vow for building a happy, prosperous and non-communal Bangladesh with the spirit of the War of Liberation.
Marking the day, district administration, various cultural organizations, political parties and educational institutions chalked out elaborate programmes.
The day’s programme began through heralding with 31 gun salutes at the time of sun rising placing wreaths at the monument located at Gaibandha Pouro Park, by district administration led by deputy commissioner (DC) Kazi Nahid Rasul, police department led by police super Kamal Hossain, district Muktijodha Sangshad, district AL, and other parties.
Then, the DC accompanied by police super Kamal Hossain hoisted the national flag, released balloons and pigeons in the sky at Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium at about 8:30 am.
After that a colorful march past was held in the stadium through active participation of ansar-VDP, fire service, BNCC, boys scouts, girl guides, school, college and Madrasah students and inmates of govt. Shishu Paribars.
DC Kazi Nahid Rasul and police super Kamal Hossain took salute of the march past as the chief guest and the special guest respectively.
Later, a reception was accorded to the freedom fighters.
